OFFICE OF CHIEF MEDICAL EXAMINER OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK SELECTS LABVANTAGE'S SAPPHIRE TO BOLSTER FORENSIC OPERATIONS
Press release Bridgewater, NJ. April 28, 2010.
LabVantageŽ today announced that the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York (OCME) has selected its SAPPHIRE Laboratory Information Management Suite (LIMS) to bolster its cross-departmental forensic operations.
As one of the largest medical examiners offices in the nation, OCME currently uses many disparate software systems and manual procedures in an effort to manage the various components of its forensic data. When defining the requirements for streamlining its processes, especially for chain-of-custody, evidence tracking, case management, and analytical result management, OCME determined that a software solution that consolidates the variety of data sources while addressing their diverse functional needs was the best path to pursue. In addition, an experienced services organization, with a well-established project methodology and proven ability to successfully deliver on time and on plan, was OCME's vital condition when selecting its solution provider.
"With seasoned professionals to implement a strong functional software solution, SAPPHIRE LIMS, LabVantage is the selected vendor for OCME to partner with, especially when considering the nature of our complex forensic operations," explains Roni Amiel, Chief Information
Officer of OCME. "As we continue to work closely with the LabVantage team, I envision that the enhancements in data and information management will significantly streamline our current procedures and help us take our operations and services to the next level."
"OCME's selection of LabVantage is a true testament to the extensive functionality and configurability our thin-client LIMS solution offers to the forensic laboratory. Coupling SAPPHIRE with the domain expertise of our professional services staff, who work closely with our customers
to deploy enterprise-wide, intricate solutions for the forensic laboratory, has proven to be a winning combination," expresses Jim Aurelio, President & CEO of LabVantage. "I am honored to see that LabVantage continues to support the many mission-critical operations for leading
forensic organizations around the world."
