LKAB are a mining company in northern Sweden. They have six laboratories in three different locations (Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara) with 30 concurrent Sapphire LIMS users, tells Jonas Björnström, responsible for Sapphire LIMS at LKAB.
“Generally speaking, the WSP Connect installation at LKAB has worked well. We haven’t had a single interruption in the production since the latest version, 2.20 was installed. Twenty two instruments are connected to Sapphire LIMS using WSP Connect. All instruments are communicating through files in an excellent way. We feel that there is a high level of traceability and logging in the system, which is useful if error detection situations would appear."
"Today we manage about 900 text files daily in WSP Connect using 8 drivers. It is a benefit that the program runs as a service on the server. This means that we don’t need to handle any manual restarting of the interface every time a server is restarted, the service starts automatically with the server, even when no user is logged in. Altogether we consider WSP Connect a robust system”, says Jonas.
