LimsView - Business analysis for the future

In the laboratory industry today the need for fast analysis of data increases rapidly. The traditional business intelligence tools often offer limited useability and access to the stored information.

The Laboratory for clinical microbiology at the University hospital in Linköping is presently introducing LimsView for statistical presentation of laboratory results. “In the pilot we have chosen to analyze bacteria susceptibility to antibiotics and also the occurrence of different bacteria”, says Anna Hjalmarsson, Software Point’s project manager. The data are retrieved from their LIMS, LabStudio. The goal of the pilot is to rapidly and simply present statistics and thereby improve the quality of the laboratory and minimize the work needed.

LimsView is a new generation of business intelligence that might rather be called a business analysis tool, due to its capabilities to handle and present data and statistics.

LimsView is integrated into the LIMS, and the customized application enables the user to obtain an immediate overview of the business, and yet the information on the most granular level is only a few clicks away. LimsView encourages the viewing of data from different angles, for example, in terms of counts, results, or costs.

With one click you can alter your query and all the graphs and tables are updated immediately.With the user-friendly interface it takes only a few hours to get started and work with LimsView.

Software Point and QlikTech Nordic have entered into a partnership according to which Software Point integrates QlikView with its LIMS products WiLabLIMS, LabMaster, LabStudio, Sapphire and C5LIMS. The product is called LimsView. ”We think the name reflects the functionality very well”,  says CEO Andrea Holmberg from Software Point. ”Independently of which LIMS the laboratory uses, most organizations have a big need for making statistical summaries and presentations of their laboratory data.
