Software Point chosen to deliver a blood bank management system for University hospital of Oulu

The Pohjois-Pohjanmaa healthcare district, comprising of Oulu University hospital and other secondary healthcare units in the region, has chosen to purchase a new blood bank management system from Software Point.  The procurement is currently on a waiting period for complaints and Software Point expects to sign the actual delivery contract within October 2008.

The delivery will be based on Sapphire from LabVantage Solutions of USA and Clinical LIMS, the healthcare lab specific solution developed by Software Point. Software Point expects to deliver the system in early 2009.

The new Sapphire-based blood banking system, for which University Hospital of Oulu will be the first user, will set new standards for the functionality and cost-effectiveness of blood bank systems in the Nordics" comments Jouko Kuisma, business area manager for Healthcare in Software Point.
