Innovation Prize Awards 2008 to Bengt Bredin and Johanna Happonen

Innovativeness is a key factor in modern day business environment. Software Point wanted to encourage and reward its employees’ innovative activities through announcing an annual innovation prize award. The purpose is to give special acknowledgement to created innovations and to foster a culture of innovation in the company.

The 1st Innovation prize was announced and handed on the 6th of February on Software Point's 17th anniversary celebration. Raimo Oinas as the president of the award committee told that on the total around 20 nominations were sent to compete for the first prize.  "Choosing the winner was in the beginning difficult, but  soon it became clear that Bengt Bredin with his innovative idea for WSP Connect - a solution for interfacing instruments, HL7, etc.- had earned the first prize. " tells Raimo.

"I was surprised and proud to be chosen" tells Bengt. "A lot of other people were involved in the developing WSP Connect. I hope the product will be continuously developed and I hope to see WSP Connect in all Sapphire installations in the future." says Bengt.

A second prize was handed to an operational innovation of non-technical nature. This prize was given to Johanna Happonen for her initiative to develop environmental issues at Software Point and organizing of recycling.

”Taking care of company's social responsibility is very important for Software Point's ecological image and of course also for our common effort of reducing strain on nature”, described the prize committee Johanna's innovation.
